Kabir Khan Opens Up on Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s 10-Year Journey, Talks Sequel Possibility and Salman Khan’s Low-Key Style
As Bajrangi Bhaijaan marks a decade since its release, director Kabir Khan reflects on the film’s lasting impact and his discussions with Salman Khan about a potential sequel.
"Beyond a few social media mentions, we haven’t done much to mark the anniversary," Kabir shared. "Salman and I have talked about it. He’s not someone who enjoys making a big deal out of such milestones. He prefers to keep things low-key and not center the spotlight on himself."
Kabir emphasized the special connection audiences have with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, calling it a "once-in-a-lifetime" film. "The film has received overwhelming love. Even after 10 years, it continues to touch hearts. Very few films manage to create such a legacy."
Discussing the idea of a re-release, Kabir revealed, “We’ve spoken about bringing it back to theatres. Young kids, some as young as six or seven, still talk to Salman and me about it. That’s something we’re seriously considering.”
When asked about revisiting the film, Kabir admitted he hadn’t watched it in full recently. "It’s been a while since I watched the entire film from start to finish. But it’s always on TV—almost every weekend. My daughter, Sairah, absolutely loves it, and sometimes when she puts it on, I end up watching it scene by scene. Before you know it, you’ve seen the whole movie again."
With fans still deeply connected to Bajrangi Bhaijaan, hopes for a sequel remain alive — and so does the film’s timeless charm.
