Over 2.5 Lakh Students Allotted Seats in FYJC Round 2; Admission Confirmation Open Until July 21
A total of 2,51,804 students have been allotted seats in the second round of admissions for First Year Junior College (FYJC), as per the announcement made on Thursday by Dr. Mahesh Palkar, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Among the streams, Science received the highest number of allotments with 1,29,035 seats, followed by Commerce with 69,442, and Arts with 53,327 students allotted.
Students must confirm their admissions in person by visiting the allotted junior colleges between July 18 and July 21.

This is the first time the online Centralised Admission Process (CAP) has been extended across almost the entire state, excluding Konkan, where it was previously limited to urban areas.
A total of 9,483 junior colleges are participating in the FYJC CAP process this year. Out of the 21.3 lakh total intake, 17.6 lakh seats are allocated through the CAP process, while 3.7 lakh seats fall under quota admissions (Management, In-house, and Minority).
So far, 5,07,288 students have secured admission:
- CAP Round 1: 4,31,615 students
- Quota Round: 75,673 students
Students who have received allotment to their first preference college must confirm their admission during this round, as they will not be eligible for future CAP rounds.
